The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University. The Three-Year (Six Semester) full time regular course equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The program also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.

Five Courses has been launched under this scheme in which India Tourism Development Corporation (MOT and National Institute of Open Schooling (MHRD) will award Diploma to the eligible candidates after the successful Completion of the programme.

* The Course fee amount can be paid in instalments.
* The course consists of Practical as well as Theoretical classes. 70% of the total course is practical and 30% is theory.
* There is no Upper age limit to enroll for this course
*Since the inception of this courses in the year November 2011 and are well placed in reputed organizations like IRCTC, SagarRatna, Mast Kalandar Group of Restaurants, Parikrma Restaurants & The Ashok Hoteland many more.

* After the successful completion of the training programme, the candidates will be awarded a Diploma jointly by ITDC and NIOS

* Certificate course in Food Production ranging from 03 months to 12 months with more stress on practical training is offered. Fee charged Rs. 5000/- per month. Certificate is awarded by AIH&TM to successful candidates.

Apprenticeship courses as per Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training (RDAT), Ministry of Labour are offered at AIH&TM in the following trades.

ITDC & The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region

Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management(AIH&TM), ITDC, has received work order no. 10(29)/2013-CB&TA, dated 201.12.2015 from Ministry of DONER, Government of India for imparting job-oriented residential training for 600 educated unemployed youth of North-East States in various courses relating hospitality and tourism. The training costs including accommodation, mess and travel expenses are borne by the Ministry.
Apart from imparting skills, the Institute is responsible for securing placements of trainees on successful completion of the training courses.
The courses are of 1 year duration and they include.
(i) Hotel front office
(ii) Restaurant services,
(iii) Travel agency & Hospitality Management
(iv)Food production etc. The minimum educational qualification is 12th Pass (10th Pass for Food Production) and minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 28 years. The training's are conducted in cities where ITDC Hotels are located, such as Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Pondicherry, and Mysore. In this regards AIH&TM is in process to conduct selection interviews in Manipur (2nd and 3rd June, 2016) and Tripura (29th and 30th June, 2016). Hunar Se Rozgar Skill Development Training, Scheme of Ministry of Tourism.

* Hunar Se Rozgar (HSR) a Skill Development Programme sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India offers 6 to 8 weeks short term courses.

Highlights of the Course :

 

* Eligibility for these courses is minimum 8th Class passed.

* This course is for the candidates of age group between 18-28 years .

* The Skill development training scheme for hospitality sector was launched by MoT to conduct training programmes in trades of F&B Services (06 weeks) and Food Production (08 weeks).

* More than 10000 students have already been trained under this scheme.

* All ITDC hotels have been declared as training centers for conducting HSR Programme.
